A reflection, empty as wintry glass. She is more than I. I am told I am ill. In unadorned rooms we've spent days discussing it. To know our pain; to not ever feel pity. The water runs warm in its rivulettes, constancy soothes my heart as it beats warmth into my palms. To hold my life, it is so sweet. Is it unnatural, choosing death over sadness? i search for solace in drug-induced slumber i search for answers in unnatural sleep i search for what i can't define i search but can't find what i seek. the answers aren't in the waking world from which i cannot part the answers i can't even find in my own loveless heart. as i walk on its cold and lonely as i sleep it seeps into my bones as i pray its dark and im scared as i breathe i am all alone. what i seek i cannot find but i cannot say goodbye i cannot induce a sleep in which i'll slowly die. i search for a way to better my life i search for a way to survive i search for a way for all to be happy i search for a reason

what is the point of having a friend? someone who is with you? someone who cares? someone who doesnt judge you? someone who loves you? or is a friend just someone who uses you? somone who's with you because the impulse seemed right? someone who saw you first in the line? because for all they didnt have time? what is the point of having a friend? when they care not for you but only for company? who care only for their own selfish cause? and when you're gone they don't even pause. they move on and find a new 'just because'.

i am not the same as you. it is true that i breathe and bleed, but there is a clear difference. you mean the world to somebody, maybe to even more than one person. in life there are those people that we can never forget. the ones we all just want to be around. they are a minority, with an undefinable quality. most people are normal. loved and respected, cherished by those in their circle. each one of these is the centre of their lives. each one of these is precious to most. i am of a few. i am of the people on the fringes. necessary and therefore meaningful, but with minor roles to play. even to themselves, life is mor

i look in the mirror and want to die. is this self-pity? where does sorrow end and self-pity begin? an animal dies without self-pity, but cringes before a blow... yelps at a thorn in a tender paw... and cries out at loneliness... there is a place for sadness, and i am sure for remorse too... pity for others is what makes a human noble... empathy is how we show we care... but what is self-pity? i know it goes to a place we shouldn't.

others have the words to say things i hold so close to heart. things that i could never utter, others say with just a word. they can speak how i feel, they must feel what i know. can't they help me kill the pain? take it away, bring me back again? why should they help me? there isnt one reason... but give me a reason and i will live. please, i beg you to speak what i want to hear. what i want to hear i wish was the truth.

thought it about time i wrote, been drawing a bit too. life is getting me down, finding random scribbles from a long time ago and feeling very disillusioned with the world; how far i have come, or rather not come, how few ppl really care about anything except themselves, and how i have not yet managed to etch out a meaningful existence. special shout it to Elskanko for always being there, and lostwhispers and goth4you for just being so nice. all the ppls in clag, aussiewombat and PoetryPlease are legends, wish i was on more so i could get to know yous a bit better. all the best to darkangelika and wedderburn, hope all is going well and yo

yesterday i was 23, and it was the most perfect day :) muskau made it an awesome day and everything was better than it had ever been before. thanks to all the deviants who have been so great in the chatrooms and with their advice, it has really helped me with my writing and overcoming this 'inability to create anything' which i have had for a few years! it has been much appreciated! :glomp: thanks so much to everyone for making it a great site, see you all soon!
